Winner of the 2014 Feminist Porn Award for Best Trans Film, and nominated for X Biz and Transgender Erotica Awards for Best Film.

Trans Grrls begins at the 2013 SF Dyke March, where Chelsea Poe and Maxine Holloway’s historical hook up takes off in public. Shot by trans film-makers Ajapornfilms and Courtney Trouble, this film borrows from riot grrrl ideology (it’s self-published, DIY, and challenges the norms of public discourse around feminism/femme space) while establishing a modern, more inclusive take on that ideology.  Collaborations with Doing It Ourselves creator Tobi Hill-Meyer and an extensive soundtrack of trans-fronted bands from around the world strengthen the film. 

The sequel, Trans Lesbians, is also not to be missed.
